How much does Nest thermostat installation cost in Miami?+
Nest thermostat installation in Miami costs $149 for labor only (you provide the Nest), $299–$349 for a basic Nest Thermostat with installation, or $399–$499 for a Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) with full installation. All installations include C-wire if needed, Wi-Fi setup, Google Home app configuration, and full system test.
Why does my Nest thermostat keep losing charge or showing a blank screen?+
The most common cause is a missing C-wire. Without a dedicated C-wire, the Nest tries to charge its internal battery by stealing small amounts of power through the HVAC system. This causes the battery to drain, the screen to go blank, and your AC to short-cycle. The permanent fix is installing a C-wire — not replacing the thermostat. Our technicians can install a C-wire in 30–60 minutes.
My Nest won't connect to Wi-Fi. What should I do?+
Common Nest Wi-Fi issues include: distance from router, 5GHz vs 2.4GHz network conflicts (Nest requires 2.4GHz), firmware glitches, and low battery preventing the Wi-Fi radio from staying active. Try restarting the Nest and your router first. If the problem persists, it may be a battery/power issue related to missing C-wire. Call (305) 607-3244 for same-day diagnosis.
What's the difference between the Nest Learning and the basic Nest Thermostat?+
The Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen, $379.99) has a larger display, learns your schedule automatically, provides detailed energy history, supports Nest Temperature Sensors, and has a premium metal design. The basic Nest Thermostat ($229.99) has a mirror display, simpler smart features, and energy savings suggestions, but does not learn your schedule or support temperature sensors. For Miami homes, the Learning model is worth the upgrade.
Does the Nest thermostat need a C-wire?+
Google says the Nest can work without a C-wire, but in practice this causes problems in many Miami homes. Without a C-wire, the Nest’s battery drains faster than it charges — especially in cooling-heavy climates where the AC runs 8–10 months per year. This leads to blank screens, short cycling, and random shutoffs. We strongly recommend a C-wire for all Nest installations in Florida.
Can you add Nest Temperature Sensors to my existing Nest?+
Yes. Nest Temperature Sensors work with the Nest Learning Thermostat to monitor temperature in different rooms and adjust cooling based on which room you prioritize. This is ideal for Miami homes with hot spots — upstairs bedrooms, rooms with sun exposure, or rooms far from the AC unit. We supply, install, and configure Nest Temperature Sensors in the Google Home app.
Why is my Nest not cooling my house properly?+
Several Nest-specific issues can prevent proper cooling: incorrect O/B wiring for heat pumps, the Nest’s learning period, Eco Temperature settings that are too aggressive, or the Cool to Dry feature interfering with comfort. It could also be an HVAC system issue unrelated to the thermostat. Our licensed technicians diagnose whether the problem is the Nest, the wiring, or your AC system.
How long does Nest installation take?+
A standard Nest installation takes 30–60 minutes. This includes removing the old thermostat, wiring the Nest, C-wire installation if needed (add 30–60 minutes), Wi-Fi connection, Google Home app setup, schedule programming, and full system test. Nest Temperature Sensor installation adds about 15 minutes per sensor.
